YUI – PORT's Artist-in-Residence project "Invitation Program 2019 Spring" has started.
The invitation program is an Artist-in-Residence project program that invites artists selected by open recruitment and supports long-term stay.
■Duration of Stay
Within 90 days between April 1st, 2019 (Monday) and June 30th, 2019 (Sunday)
October 1st, 2018 (Monday) - November 30th, 2018 (Friday) [No Later Than]
■Number of Applicant Invited
Two people (or groups)
·Currently active artist (genre does not matter)
·Participate in the citizen exchange project at least once in cooperation with Designated Administrator.
・Reside and conduct creative activities using YUI – PORT
・Present the production result as work within the program and be responsible for the set up and removal of the exhibition.
・Able to communicate in either Japanese or English
・In good health condition
■Details of Invitation
·Production Cost: 200,000 yen will be paid as a production cost (material purchase cost, research expenses, etc.) during residence.
·Location of Production: YUI – PORT's “Workshop Gallery (1 or 2)” will be lent free of charge during the program period.
·Residing Expenses: 2,800 yen per day will be paid as a residing expense during the residence. (However, the maximum limit will be 89 nights and 90 days).
·Transportation Expenses: Round-trip public transportation expense will be provided from the airport (train station) nearest to the residence of the invited artist, etc. to YUI – PORT in the range of the maximum limit amount.
*The actual expense equivalent to the most reasonable and efficient travel section using public transportation is to be covered.
Furthermore, round-trip expense up to 1 time during the program period is to be covered and transportation expenses after 2nd time shall be borne in self-expense.
